For clients who I see who have issues with chronic muscular tension and imbalances, especially around the neck, shoulders and back, I can ease the symptoms with massage, but unless the individual is prepared to make some changes, the problems are likely to return over time. I will recommend postural/lifestyle improvements, exercises and stretches to guide a client through the changes that they may need to make. And I'm a big advocate of pilates, as a regular class can really improve posture, flexibility and core strength. Core strength is a key component in helping to prevent or reduce back pain. Regular pilates can also increase your own awareness of your body and posture, helping you to make the postural changes you may need to reduce everyday tension in the back, shoulders or neck.
Whilst I frequently recommend pilates to my clients, I'll admit that as an endorphin junkie, I don't often have the patience for it, but I was delighted to go along to a Pro Pilates class

recently and was very pleasantly surprised - I really enjoyed myself! So the following comes from Pro Pilates owner Claire Bull and I can sincerely recommend her to my clients: Hi, I'm Claire from Pro Pilates based in Fleet. I offer private pilates classes at a time that suits you and fun, friendly, motivating small classes for all levels and abilities in my studio.
